We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, high-contrast settings or captions.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We check pages as we build them, for example for keyboard access, visible focus, text contrast on light and dark backgrounds, headings and labels, and layouts that work on a phone without sideways scrolling.
The site has not yet had a full, independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim that it fully conforms to WCAG. We will update this page when an audit is done.
Where it may still fall short
- The interactive simulations (the bone-quality, remodeling, scan-comparison, jump and other “lab” tools) are visual. The page text around them explains the same ideas in words, but the moving pictures themselves may not be fully usable with a screen reader.
- Automatic translations come from a third-party service and may be inaccurate or harder to read. The English version is the one that counts.
- Printed and saved-as-PDF versions of the guides are produced by your browser, so their structure for assistive technology can vary.
Ask for another format
If something on the site is hard to use, please contact us and tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days and, where we can, to provide the information another way, such as a plain-text version, a printable document or a phone call. You do not need to explain why you are asking.
Feedback
Reports about accessibility problems help us fix them. We read every one, and we do not use what you tell us for anything other than responding to you and improving the site, as described in our Privacy Policy.
